Using Olive Oil Moisturizers: A Natural, Homemade Facial Moisturizer

olive oil moisturizers

An olive oil moisturizer is the natural solution for dry skin care. Discerning women have used it for centuries to discourage wrinkles and keep their skin smooth and soft. At a time when many families are getting back to the basics, it is one of the perfect natural moisturizers.

Olive Oil: A Personalized Homemade Facial Moisturizer

Why spend big bucks at the department store on a small jar of face cream, when you can create your own personal olive oil as a moisturizer for pennies on the dollar?

You can customize your own skin care solution, too, by adding scents of your choice to the olive oil.

For example, natural moisturizers with a hint of lavender are a wonderful gentle fragrance. Thyme and Rosemary are excellent for people with oily skin. Both spices have a tendency to dry the skin naturally.

If you do not like the smell of lavender, or you already have dry skin, you may want to add jasmine to your homemade facial moisturizer.

Of course, don’t forget to include Vitamin E for an extra healthy glow. In addition to creating a healthier natural face moisturizer, Vitamin E also acts to help preserve your olive oil moisturizer, just like it helps provide nutrients for your skin and keep it look younger longer.

How to Store Olive Oil Moisturizer

Naturally, you want to take care of your homemade facial moisturizer, because it doesn’t include the unhealthy preservatives of store-bought brands.

To do so, store it in the refrigerator between each application.

If you don’t want to apply your olive oil moisturizer cold, simply put a few drops in a small container, and let it warm to room temperature before applying it your skin.

Why Natural Moisturizers are Superior

An olive oil moisturizer is better for you and your skin for several reasons.

  1. First, natural ingredients are healthier for your complexion.
  2. Especially for the individual with allergies, an olive oil moisturizer avoids the potential sensitivity that can occur with a manufactured product, not to mention the wasted expense. When making your own natural facial moisturizer, you know exactly what it contains.
  3. Of course, it will save money in your family budget. You will not be paying premium prices for a product that must be repurchased often. A few drops of an olive oil moisturizer will go much further than the store-bought brands.
  4. Last, but not least, you can create your own signature fragrance of homemade facial moisturizer. You can choose lavender, jasmine, sandalwood, thyme, rosemary, or something else to develop the perfect scent and moisturizing qualities that are right for your type of skin.

Now you know why so many women choose to make their own olive oil moisturizer for a perfect at-home skin care solution. Isn’t it time you made your own homemade moisturizer using olive oil?

Where is the recipe for the olive oil moisturizer?

To add Vit E just add a few drops of the liquid to 2 oz olive oil and about 5 drops of your fav essential oil. Hope this helps.
