The Budget Beauty- This one can be made for under $6 (and it makes a lot of product), with all of its ingredients coming from your local dollar store. The results are fantastic and your wallet won’t feel the pinch it sometimes can when you set out to make your own homemade hand lotion products.
Ingredients:
- Petroleum Jelly – 1 jar
- Aloe Vera Lotion – 1 bottle
- Pink Baby Lotion – 2 bottles
- Vitamin E Cream – 2 bottles
Directions:
Simply mix with water and there you have a large reserve of wonderful, hand lotion made at-home.
Citrus Butter Lotion- This is a great homemade cream with a wonderfully delicious smell. It’s also super simple to make!
Ingredients:
- Cocoa butter – ½ ounce (melted)
- Olive oil -1 ounce (warmed)
- Orange juice – 1 ounce
- Orange Flower essential oil – 2 drops
Directions:
Blend all the ingredients together until the mixture becomes light and fluffy. This lotion doesn’t have to be refrigerated, but it does need to be used as soon as possible before the combination of materials begins to separate.
The Bees’ Knees- This mixture uses beeswax for a deeply satisfying and hydrating experience. The ingredients are a little more difficult to get a hold of than the ones for the previous recipes, but this homemade hand lotion is a miracle worker and certainly worth the extra effort.
Ingredients:
- Beeswax – 3 tablespoons (grated)
- Liquid Lanolin – 1 tablespoon
- Light sesame oil – ½ cup
- Chamomile tea – 2 tablespoons
- Coconut oil – 1 tablespoon
- Honey – 1 teaspoon
- Baking Soda – 1/8 teaspoon
Directions:
Mix all ingredients together and heat in the microwave until the wax and oils have melted. Remove the mixture from the heat before it begins to boil. Allow the lotion to cool completely before use.
